Are you looking for a tire that will allow you to push your car to the limit all year-round without ever losing control?
Designed for sport cars, luxury sport cars and luxury sport crossovers, the ExtremeContact DWS06 is Continental’s entry into the ultra-high performance all-season tire category. It has a durable, long lasting tread life. Unbelievable traction on dry, wet and snow covered surfaces. And power resistance to hydroplaning for wonderful wet weather performance.
But how does the DWS06 stand up to the other leading tire brands in its class?
Continental’s focus with the ExtremeContact DWS06 is to provide reliable traction in the winter without sacrificing performance and handling during the spring, summer and fall. It manages to find the perfect balance between pleasant road manners, dry handling, wet traction and winter capability.
To improve traction in wet conditions and deliver more accurate handling with a longer lasting tread life, the DWS06 uses a tread compound containing silica and +Saline additives that’s molded into a unique , aggressive-looking asymmetric tread pattern.
The DWS06 proves to have high levels of grip on dry pavement thanks to Continental’s Chamfered Edges that help maintain maximum tread contact in dry conditions.
The combination of Traction Grooves and X-Sipe technology around the tread give the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 excellent grip in wet weather, so heavy rain is no challenge for these tires. Also, the independent inboard shoulders blocks help to quickly evacuate water for impenetrable resistance to hydroplaning and better wet weather traction.
There were complaints about the sidewall on the original DWS being too soft, so how does the ExtremeContact DWS06 compare?
To give the DWS06 more strength, cornering stability and a quicker steering response, Continental have used a two-ply sidewall with a unique sport sidewall insert that provides 35 percent more stiffness than the original DWS.
However, Continental have decided to hold onto the Alignment Verification System and Tuned Performance Indicators from the original DWS. The Alignment Verification System helps identify any vehicle misalignment issues by show you how well the tire is wearing and whether your vehicle is correctly aligned. While the Tuned Performance Indicators ( D for Dry, W for Wet, S for Snow) show you if the tire has the appropriate tread depth left for driving in certain weather conditions.
The DWS06 glues you to the road and doesn’t let go
You’ll never lose confidence in this tire’s ability. Regardless of the weather, your driving style or the road conditions, you’ll find the steering to be crisp and responsive with invincible grip.
With the DWS06 on your car, you can plow through snow covered surfaces with ease, however, they can slip a little on ice.
The new ExtremeContact DWS06 is available in 87 sizes from 16 to 22 inches and is backed by Continental’s new Total Confidence Plan, which features a 60 day customer satisfaction trial, 12 month road hazard coverage, three-year flat tire roadside assistance, 72 month manufacturer’s limited warranty program and a 50,000 mile limited tread warranty.
