Do you want tires that provide excellent traction in a whole range of extreme winter conditions?

Built for the drivers of sport coupes and sport sedans, the Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 is Goodyear’s high-performance winter tire.

Winter Performance

The Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 features a high-performance winter compound that’s molded into a V-Tread technology directional tread pattern. The tread utilizes hundreds of added sipes to provide you with biting grip.

The Eagle Ultra Grip does really well on wet and cold pavement. This is because the tire’s soft compound sticks so well to the road. It balances dependable winter traction with solid hydroplaning resistance on wet and slush covered road surfaces.

The Ultra Grip 3’s tread also features winter wear indicators. These let you know when the remaining tread depth is unable to provide reliable snow traction.

While you can count on the Ultra Grip 3 to get you around in the snow, slush and ice, it doesn’t deliver the same high-levels of performance as the leading tires in its class. Deep or hard packed snow will present a challenge and can cause quite a bit of spin when accelerating, while steering just isn’t as responsive as the other top tires in rough winter weather and the tread wears a bit quicker than expected.

Dry Performance

On dry pavement the Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 provides excellent driving and cornering capability. They allow you to turn and stop with complete confidence and remain stable and predictable at high speeds. It’s easy to mistake the Ultra Grip 3 for all season tires.

For durability and ride comfort, the Ultra Grip 3’s internal structure features two steel belts and a polyester cord body. On top of that, there is a built-in rim protector that helps prevent any wheel damage. There’s also the the center rib which provides consistent road contact for highway stability and better handling.

If you’re on a budget and need a dependable set of tires to get you around during the winter, the Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 is a solid choice. It will get you home safely without any accidents or getting stuck in snow. Their overall wet and dry performance is terrific and at the same level as most all season tires.

Like with all dedicated winter tires, Goodyear recommends that you use the Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 in sets of four only. And to show that the Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW-3 meets the standards for severe weather driving, the tire is branded with the three peak mountain snowflake symbol.

The Ultra Grip 3 is available in sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches, and with H or V speed ratings.
