Mastercraft Courser MXT Review

Introduced in 2015, Mastercraft Courser MXT (built by Cooper) is a made-in-USA offroad tire that fits 16“ to 21“ wheel diameters and is between 31“ and 37“ tall. Its main purpose is handling mud and snow with ease, which reflects on its aggressive design with deep biting lugs and bold sidewalls, which provide additional grip when battling the trails. During offroad challenges, the tire proved to be quiet, and on the road, it feels safe and sounds surprisingly quiet as well. The Courser MXT provides your offroader with an amazing look and fantastic offroad performance for the value, which truly matters the most.

Courser MXT versus snow and mud

In rocky terrain, its design provides the tire with a good puncture resistance, especially on its sides. The tread pattern allows the tire to tackle snow with ease, not letting any to stick. In reduced grip conditions, such are snow and mud, the Courser MXT showed incredible stopping power and great traction. With that in mind, Courser MXT is truly a tire for all offroad conditions.

On the road

The main issue with aggressive offroad tires is its noise, especially during long highway runs, when higher speeds are achieved. However, even on the road, the Courser MXT proved to be a very civilized companion despite its typically offroad design. The noise was reducted to the minimum, and was evident only while cornering.

Key features:

  • Made in USA
  • Optimal void-to-tire ratio – rugged performance on sand, snow and mud
  • Full depth sipping – keeps traction despite wearing down
  • Variable pitch sequencing – good noise reduction
  • Pinned for studs
  • M+S rated

In conclusion, the Mastercraft Courser MXT is a great all-round tire for all surfaces and weather conditions, for everyday use and weekend escapades, with a good range of dimensions and great value for money.
